Aurelia Zagorska Koval

Professor

I was born and educated in Poland. When I was a student I participated in many international student exchanges in Denmark and Germany focusing on language and environmental programs. As a member of a Cardiovascular organization I also attended numerous international Conferences.

I hold two BS degrees, one in Nursing and one in Public Health from the Medical University In Wroclaw and finished my Masters in Biology in 2016 from the University of Wroclaw. I was working full time in private clinics first as a coordinator of the shift than as a coordinator of nurses for 5 years. I have a few years teaching experience in the private school ‘Lider’, where I was a teacher of medical subjects for medical professions. Also I taught Biology in the International School of Wroclaw for a few years.

As a professor in a learning-centered college I’m very enthusiastic that I can support my students on their way to achieve their educational goals. I believe that active learning is the best way for students, as this process makes them self-aware and ready for mature life. I use different methods and tools to make sure I support my students in their process of learning, and continue to grow professionally by completing Valencia College PD courses. I earned my Associate Professor Certification this summer. Most recently I have been selected to serve in the 2021/2022 academic year as a full-time Visiting Professor.

I speak Polish, English, French, German and reading Russian. In my free time I like different kinds of activities, hiking, biking, exploring new places. I also love coaching people and I earned a degree in this discipline. From time to time I still cooperate with ‘Inventum’ a company financed by the European Union that helps people in many fields of their carrier. I also love old music, classical music, and reading new things.
