Christopher D'Urso
I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts but have been in Florida off and on since 2004. Prior to coming to Valencia, I taught at The State College of Florida in Bradenton, Florida and at Keiser University in Sarasota, Florida. Before that I spent almost a year living in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil where I taught for a semester at a small liberal arts college. I speak fluent Portuguese and maintain close contact with my Brazilian friends in the U.S. and Brazil.
I have always been a huge soccer fan which I played in college. My favorite team worldwide is Bayern Munich with Cruzeiro (Brazil) and Sampdoria (Italy) not far behind.
At present, I teach primarily American Government at Valencia but hope to teach courses on Latin American politics one day at Valencia.
In my free time I enjoy reading classic literature, particularly Henry James, Edith Wharton, and any classic Russian author (Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Gogol, Turgenev). I also enjoy listening to Bach, Vivaldi, DeBussy, and Satie.
