Dr. Joseph Angley

Environmental Science

Dr. Angley holds an A.B. in Biology, from Bowdoin College, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida. His master's work focused on the mutagenicity of chlorinated wastewater in natural aquatic systems, and his doctoral work focused on the sorption characteristics and biodegredation of gasoline hydrocarbons in surficial Florida aquifers.

He has 20 years experience as an environmental consultant, specializing in remedial site investigations, and remedial design and construction of treatment systems for hazardous waste sites nationwide. Dr. Angley is an experienced project manager, consulting executive and an expert in the environmental regulation of toxic substances, and solid and hazardous wastes. His specific experiences includes work for FLDEP, NASA, major oil and gas companies, USEPA, the Army Corps of Engineers, as well as Dade, Broward and Palm Beach and Collier Counties.

Dr. Angley is an experienced educator and college executive, and has taught biology, environmental science, health sciences, student success, and other courses since 1997. Dr. Angley is a retired dean and college president, and uses active learning and a "flipped Classroom" model of teaching that emphasizes student interaction.

Dr. Angley also teaches graduate courses in sustainability/sustainable development, environmental management, alternative and renewable energy and green building construction at a local university, and is the managing partner of a higher education consulting firm in Orlando.
