James Hilton, Ed. S.

Adjunct Professor of Education

I am originally from Tidewater Virginia, having grown up in a military family. I hold an undergraduate degree in Religion, a masters degree in Elementary Education, a specialist degree in Educational Leadership, and am in the process of developing my dissertation (Ed.D. Educational Leadership).

My teaching experience includes kindergarten, grades 3, 4, 5, as well as middle grades Social Studies. I have served as a curriculum and instructional supervisor as well as a consultant, focusing on curriculum and professional development. My research interests include: best practices in teaching and learning, gender studies in education, and reforms in teacher preparation.

As an instructor, my goal is to guide students from informational understanding to real-world application. Passionate educators change the lives of their students and everyone they come in contact with. It is a privilege to play a small part in this dynamic chain reaction.
