Kristi Williams

Professor of Speech and Interpersonal Communication

I began my love for the Communication field in 1999 when I decided that it was "GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR." After graduating high school in 1999, I set off to Gainesville, FL to pursue a Bachelor degree of Science in Public Relations from the University of Florida. However, along the way, I found a similar interest in Religious Studies and decided to turn my interest of religion into another degree. So, I attained a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Florida in 2003 along with the B.S. in Public Relations.

When I moved to Orlando in 2003, I decided that I wasn't done with my quest of epistemology, so I enrolled at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and received a Master of Arts in Interpersonal Communication in 2007.

I began my teaching career at UCF in 2007 and branched out to Valencia Community College (East, West, and Winter Park). I have been teaching ever since and doing free lance PR work on the side.

I have recently traveled to India to pursue a Yoga certification. My motto is 50% of what you do in college should be career-oriented and the other 50% should be passionate-oriented. Learn as much as you can in order to survive and in order to survive, you must have a passion that ignites your soul. Combination for a happy, healthy life.

I received my certification in Asana Training, Meditation, Yogic practices, the study of Yogic Texts, and therapeutic anatomy at Shine On Yoga in July 2013. (RYT 200 hour certified) and from Frog Lotus International Yoga Program in Goa, India in December 2013 (RYT 500 hour certified).
