Biography:

My name is Wanda I. Dávila-Aponte. I hold a Bachelor degree in Science (Chemistry/Biology) from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico. I earned a Master Degree in Organic Chemistry at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. I have worked for two years in Chemistry Quality Control in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Puerto Rico (Mova Pharmaceutical Johnson & Johnson Companies). In 1993 I moved to Orlando, I worked for substitute teacher for OCPS, then for Lyman High School in Longwood. In 1995 I was hired for Nephron Pharmaceutical in the Chemistry Department in which I worked for 11 years. I supervised the Chemistry Area from the same company. I was responsible to hire and train people for the analytical analysis of “bronchodilators” products. I resigned in 2006, I decided to join to the Valencia family and earn some teaching experience at College level. I was offered to teach CHM1025-Introductory Chemistry and CHM1045-General Chemistry I courses (2006-2007). A position as Chemistry Lab Manager was posted at Valencia Campus and I was hired in this position since 2007 to now. At the current time I also teach the online CHM1020 and hybrid CHM1025 courses.

My hobbies: to do some workout at YMCA. Read Healthy/Food Recipes magazines.

Teaching Philosophy: Support and Teaching enhancement with examples of Everyday Life. Enjoy Chemistry techniques demonstrations.
