Ms. Alison Adderley

Professor of Economics

I was born in New York City and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. I earned a Bachelors degree in Economics and Organizational Behavior from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After two years as an Economic Development Coordinator, I returned to school and obtained an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

I was recruited by IBM to be a Systems Engineer and spent over four years marketing as an Office Systems Specialist in the Orlando area. In 1990, I moved to Brevard County and began teaching at Brevard Community College, which is now Eastern Florida State College. I also did additional coursework in Economics at the graduate level.

During my 15 years at BCC, I served as Marketing and Business Curriculum Coordinator, Department Chair, Academic Dean and Dean of Enrollment Management before assuming the position as Dean of the Palm Bay Campus. I then spent 1 ½ years working at UCF as an Instructor and the Director for the Office of Corporate Partnerships and Career Management, and one year as Dean of Academic Affairs for Keiser University in Daytona Beach.

I am currently completing my doctorate in Leadership and Management from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens My research interests are in Student Leadership Development and adjunct affairs. I have been a member of various professional organizations including the National Business Education Association and the American Marketing Association I am a certified diversity trainer and a certified leadership trainer, and I have presented at numerous regional, state and national conferences including the League for the Innovation in the Community College’s 2001 Innovations conference, and the 2002 National Business Education Association Annual Convention.

BUT… My most important accomplishment is my 20-something year old daughter!! She graduated in May, 2017 from UCF with degree in accounting. Yeah, I'm proud of her!

My passion outside of work and school (I am completing my doctorate.) is Jazz! I love music, but especially Jazz. I also love to travel, and hopefully will be visiting many more countries within the next few years. And, I am becoming somewhat of a foodie, though I admit I watch more food channel shows and collect more recipes than I cook!!
