I am a sociologist and pop culture academic. In my classes we talk about everything from music's impact on society (I love Beyonce and Hamilton!) to movements like The Women's March, to the rise in mass shootings.

Sociology is the study of society, we focus on why people do what they do. We discuss topics like race, gender, social class, sexuality, crime and deviance, family life, dating, marriage, divorce, sex, religion, and education, just to name a few.

I've published several books in the area of culture and society and have also written about research methods for academic journals and books. See my website for more info.
