I am a sociologist and pop culture academic. In my classes we talk about everything from the impact of Beyonce and Jay-Z on society to the rise in cyber harassment/bullying. Sociology is the study of why people do what they do which means we discuss family life, religion, race, gender, social class and education to name a few topics. We watch Mean Girls in my Introductory Sociology classes. :)
