Prof Tina Tan

Professor, Speech Communication

Tina Tan is a Speech professor. She enjoys being in the classroom and strives to make learning a good experience for each student.

Tina has more than 10 years of senior practitioner experience in public relations and 15 years of experience in broadcasting, reporting and production. She was vice president of client relations and media coaching lead at Market Ready Public Relations, where she was responsible for account management, global media relations, interview management, media training, competitor/ coverage analysis, event development and implementation.

Previously, Tina worked with WAMC (New York National Public Radio Affiliate), Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (in radio and television), Walt Disney World, University of Central Florida and the International Visitors Bureau of Central Florida. As a journalist, she has researched, written, reported and anchored nightly news as well as syndicated programming. Tina has interviewed and reported on national business and political newsmakers, experts and entertainers. As a PR professional, Tina has successfully managed the corporate launches of startups prominent in their field of innovation and organized professional events, conferences, conventions, and market launch events.

Tina has attained numerous awards for the PR clients she has worked with and has received her own awards for excellence in reporting, including Best Enterprise Reporting, Best Local Documentary Program, and Best Daily Program Award from Public Radio News Directors, Inc. In 1996, she was recognized by World Hunger Year for her work on the plight of migrant farm workers.
