Faculty FrontDoor

David Curtis, MS

Instructor of Biology and Microbiology

I currently hold both a BS in Biology and a MS in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the University of Central Florida (UCF).

I have been an instructor for over 15 years working first as high school teacher and then later, after returning to graduate school myself, as a graduate teaching assistant for Microbiology at UCF and as an adjunct faculty member at Valencia College's East Campus. In my capacity as an adjunct faculty member, I have had the pleasure of teaching Fundamentals of Biology 1, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology 1 and Anatomy and Physiology 2.

I joined the faculty at the West Campus of Valencia College in August of 2011 as a full-time, tenure-track instructor. Currently, I am a tenured faculty member and am responsible for teaching Fundamentals of Biology 1 and Microbiology courses at the college.

Teaching Philosophy: I believe very strongly in challenging students within the confines of the lecture and lab setting to show them the potential they have for success despite the rigors of what lay before them, both in the classroom and beyond.
