Dr. Edward Holman

Hi, I have been teaching since 1997, and I have been an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) adjunct at Valencia for twelve years. In addition, I have taught EAP at the University of Central Florida, Broward College, and Seminole State College. Furthermore, I have taught College Prep Writing at Daytona State College and Seminole State College. I have a doctorate in education: curriculum and instruction Pre-K to 12 and a M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language. My B.A. is in Liberal Studies with a minor in Communicative Disorders (speech pathology) and concentrations in English and foreign languages (Spanish and French). I have a Florida professional teaching certificate with certifications in English as Second Language (grades K - 12), English (grades 6-12), English (grades 5-9),Social Science (grades 6-12), Middle Grades Math (grades 5-9), General Science (grades 5-9), Exceptional Student Education (grades K-12), and Elementary Education (grades K-6). I taught for eleven years in public schools, mostly for Seminole County Public Schools as an English and ESOL teacher along with Lake County Public Schools in a self-contained EBD/ID classroom. Also, I have taught for six years in charter alternative middle schools and high schools while teaching a variety of subjects. Furthermore, I am an elementary substitute teacher for Volusia County Public Schools. In the end, because I have such a wide variety of teaching interests, my knowledge ultimately helps my students who are learning English as a second language.
