Functional IS Specialist for Allied Health and Nursing

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from University of Central Florida in 1996 and my M.S. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2008.In 2012 I added a graduate certificate in Psychology. I am an experienced Educational Technologist and Florida Certified Professional Educator and Administrator. I have been working at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida since March of 2007.

For nearly a decade, and before making the transition to higher education I taught K-12 as both a classroom teacher and technology resource teacher.

As the Functional IS Support Specialist I guide instructional technology for all areas of the Allied Health and Nursing programs on two campuses at Valencia. I'm one of the West Campus representatives for the PSLT and I also serve on the Budget Committee for the college. In 2013 I graduated from the Leadership Academy (now known as Pivot 180) and I also serve on the board for FCITL (Florida Council for Instructional Technology) which is a K-20 organization that promotes instructional technology throughout the state of Florida.

Lastly I adjunct in the departments of Education and Psychology.

I am married with two teenagers and two toddlers (the youngest is the only girl). I'm also involved in the men's ministry through my church.

Fall 2016: In the Fall of 2016 I will be teaching Positive Psychology. You can find last terms syllabus to the left. I don't expect it will change too much.
