Dr. Jerrid Kalakay

Business and Organizational Leadership Professor

Dr. Jerrid P. Kalakay is a founding professor in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Business and Organizational Leadership at Valencia College. He has also worked extensively on the creation of Valencia’s nationally-recognized social entrepreneurship program, even serving as the founding coordinator of the program. Jerrid Co-Founded the leadership and organizational development practice named LeadUp Innovation based in Central Florida in 2013. In this capacity, he has worked to improve the processes, systems, and structures within a variety of organizations to maximize their capital wealth and social value creation, respectively. He also co-founded Dos Alas Latin Coffee in 2020 to create a community through Cafecito.

Jerrid received a doctorate and a master’s degree in Leadership and Change from Antioch University; his dissertation research focused on the incidents that social entrepreneurs identified as critical to leading their enterprises. He also earned a Master's in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University, two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Management and Marketing from the University of North Florida, and his associate in arts degree from Valencia College.
