Kinyel K. Ragland, Sr.

Associate Professor

Professor Ragland achieved a BA in Political Science from Brooklyn College and a MA from the Brooklyn College Graduate Center for Worker's Education in Urban Policy and Public Administration.

He also had the privilege of participating in profound research projects including: working with the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York, which is an organization that gives attention to the exploitation of immigrant workers in restaurants; working as a Research Assistant for Dr. Noel Anderson, who completed a book based on issues surrounding black males and education; and Florida State University, which worked in conjunction with the Florida Center for Reading Research in a extensive study on reading comprehension as it applies to Social Studies in middle school students.

Mr. Ragland's teaching career includes teaching several subjects at a private, religious school that sponsored McKay scholarships for students with learning disabilities. He also taught Language Arts under the Adult Basic Education program at Orlando Technical School (OCPS), which included teaching the ABE/GED program to recovering addicts at the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center in Orlando.
