Melissa Aiello

Adjunct Instructor

I am excited to join the faculty at Valencia College. I have always loved teaching others, and giving them the confidence to learn and a love of science!

Some of my research interests are in the fields of materials science and chemical engineering. From 2015-2016, I was a researcher at the UCF Nanoscience Technology Center. I explored the use of biodegradable "smart" polymers for tissue engineering applications, as well as the use of nanomaterials for drug delivery systems. I also worked in a biochemistry lab that utilized fragmented antibody (FAB) targeting of oncogenic, non-coding RNA strands. These small, non-coding RNA are implicated in starting cellular processes that underline breast cancer.
