Matthew Sylvester graduated from Middle Georgia State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Upon graduation, Mr. Sylvester began his career in higher education working for his alma mater as an admissions recruiter and then an academic advisor for the University's teacher education programs.
In May 2016, Mr. Sylvester completed a Master of Education degree at Georgia Southern University. Upon completion of his initial graduate studies, he moved to New Jersey and began sharing his passion for teaching and literacy education by working as a high school educator in an urban charter school.
After completion of a second Masters degree, Mr. Sylvester decided to return home to the southeast as well as to higher education and began working as an Assistant Director here at Valencia. In addition to his full-time staff duties, Mr. Sylvester serves as a part-time faculty member in the West Communications department, teaching freshman composition. Mr. Sylvester is excited to share his enthusiasm for reading and writing with Valencia's students and help them grow into empowered readers, writers, and learners.
