Nancy Vinces

Profesora de español

¡Hola!

Who am I?

Well... my name is Profesora Vinces -but you can call me "Profe". I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach Spanish courses at all grade (Elementary, Middle and High) and college levels (University of Central Florida, Stetson University and Valencia College).

I teach Elementary Spanish 1 and 2 in web-enhanced face-to-face, hybrid and online modalities.

I earned two BA's from Florida Gulf Coast University: one in Psychology and the other in Spanish. Additionally, I minored in Education and Interdisciplinary Studies. Next, I obtained my MA from UCF in Spanish Peninsular Literature with a minor in Latin American Literature.

As you may have guessed from my educational background and related experience, I love reading and spending most of my time at school either teaching or learning. My favorite book is "Don Quijote de la Mancha", it's a book that was written many centuries ago but that to me is timeless.

What else do I like?

On the weekends, I truly enjoy calm strolls with my family around Lake Eola or an afternoon picnic with my loved ones. Finally, one of my biggest obsessions is traveling and learning about other cultures. Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to have visited many cities in Peru (which is where I was born and raised) and other countries such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Curacao, Spain, France, Italy, Austria and The Netherlands. Needless to say, I hope to visit many more in the future. Now, I live in Orlando, Fl and I love it.

One more thing about me is that I love inspirational quotes and enjoy sharing them, so here are a few:

"Be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi.

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning how to dance in the rain."
Anonymous.

"Cada uno es hijo de sus obras."
Cervantes.

¡Nos vemos pronto!

Ps. Smile-- it's free!
