Mr. Oscar Cartaya Sainz

Adjunct Professor of Mathematics

I was born in Cuba to a family of educators. Earned my Bachelors degree of Science in Physics from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1974. Taught and tutored Physics for the "Higher Technological Institute JAE" in Havana for over 20 years. I have been teaching Mathematics, Developmental courses, since 2008 for Valencia College, West Campus, in Orlando, Florida; also tutoring or coaching Math and Physics students of various levels for the same College.
I believe in effort, persistence, staying on task, accepting challenges, time management, and the usage of all resources available to students. The last part includes seek for help (tutoring coaching, advising...)
From my own experience and probably for all educators, an important phrase:
"Learning is an active process for learners , we all learn from our own mistakes"
