Paul Jacob

English/Writing Instructor

Paul W. Jacob is the author of Nomadic Devotion: A Contemplative Inquiry into the Poetics of Place, to be published in January of 2017. He is also the author of the forthcoming book, The Mystical Mixologist. Jacob is also the former Publishing and Editorial Director of Modern Nomad magazine, has worked as a Feature Writer for the global club-culture magazine Revolution, and was the Food and Travel columnist for the Tuscaloosa News.

He has been a writer-in-residence for the InsideOut Literary Arts Project in Detroit, at the Grunewald Guild in Washington state, and at La Serrania Retreat Centre in Spain. Jacob has been a featured guest on several regional NPR shows dealing with the topics of alternative media and the poetics of place.

His poems, environmental essays and travel stories have been published in literary journals, cultural magazines, regional newspapers and alternative media publications. He has had two chapbooks, two books of poetry, and one collection of creative nnonfiction published under a pen name by presses in the United States and Canada.

Jacob currently teaches creative writing/poetics and spiritual/religious courses in the Rollins College RCLL program and English Composition at Valencia College. Jacob has also been a guest lecturer on alternative media at Duke University and has taught Travel Writing and Creative Nonfiction at Rollins College.
