Ruby Alvarez MSN, RN

My name is Ruby Alvarez, I have been a nurse for approximately 15 years: my clinical specialty is Adult Cardiovascular Health Nursing, predominately in the critical care setting.

I received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. I completed a BSN at University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, TX, a MS in Nursing from University of Phoenix in Orlando, FL and a BS in Dietetics from Florida State University.

Professionally, I have many years of teaching nursing at the undergraduate level. I truly cannot imagine having a career that I could possibly enjoy more than that of a nurse educator. Being able to part my wisdom on new minds is very rewarding. Nursing is a career that will challenge your thinking skills year after year.

On a personal note, I have a twelve year old very active boy. I really don’t have any hobbies; my hobbies usually include whatever activity my son is currently engaged in. I'm also currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Nursing Education. I look forward to getting to know each of you.
