Stephanie Foley

EAP Adjunct Professor
Valencia College
West Campus

I graduated from Northern Illinois University in ’94 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Theater Performance. At that time, I was asked to return to the high school I attended to train students in the art of public speaking, acting, comedy and speech writing. It was this experience that awoke my passion for teaching.
I began substitute teaching in the inner city of Chicago and it was there that I found joy and purpose in teaching and learning with second language learners.
I moved from Illinois to Orlando in ’98 (if you visited Universal Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom between ’98 and 2000, there’s an excellent chance I performed for you :) ).
In 2000, I moved to California where I continued to teach and went on to attain a Professional English Teaching Credential in 2002 as well as a Master’s in Education with a TESOL emphasis in 2004.
I returned to Florida in 2008 and have been teaching ever since.
I am thrilled to have become a part of the Valencia College Family. I know this is where I am meant to be and am thoroughly enjoying my career as a professional educator with this awesome institution.
