Stephen Rayle

Professor of Criminal Justice

(Old picture)
Hello. My name is Steve Rayle. Thank you for enrolling in my class. I promise to strive for excellence and expect that you will do the same. I take my role as a professor seriously and you should as a student. Remember, all your professors were once students as well. In fact, we still are students as we are constantly learning new skills and how best to serve the student population. That is right. We too must take ongoing education to keep abreast of new technology and changes in the educational curriculum.

Valencia College is home to me. I have been a professor at Valencia since 2006. My son graduated from Valencia and I even attended myself way back in the day.

In addition to Valencia, I am a former criminal justice professor for a private Florida university and I previously taught online for a college in Virginia. Also, many years ago I taught at a joint services military command (Army, National Guard, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, National Security Agency ((NSA)). I am certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to teach at the law enforcement and correctional academies as well. I am also a former chairman of the Orlando Police Review Board.

My college-level teaching qualifications include criminal justice, general business, leadership studies, and adult education. I specialize in teaching criminal justice though. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business management, a master’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in business administration, and a doctorate in education. I am also a contributing author for a criminal justice textbook published in 2013.
