Toya Albury-Warren

My name is Dr. Toya Albury-Warren. I am an Associate Professor of Biology at the Osceola and West campuses. I graduated from Oakwood College (Huntsville, Alabama) in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After undergrad, I moved to Florida where I earned a master’s degree in public health from Florida International University (Miami, Florida) and a doctorate degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida (Orlando, Florida). I worked in a cancer research lab for five years, during which time I was able to publish two scientific papers on the association between pancreatic cancer and diabetes. I have been with Valencia since 2016 and have taught: General Biology, Biological Sciences, Biology of Human Sexuality, and Environmental Science. In addition to teaching at Valencia, I teach science and math at a local private school, as well as manage an After-School STEM program. When I am not working, which is rare, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and spending time with friends and family.
