Timothy Brookshire, MPA

Associate Professor

I am currently working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and have been for the last 7 years. Prior to working for Homeland, I served as a police officer rising up the ranks to the position of Chief of Police. I investigated everything from a petty to a triple homicide as a certified criminal investigator.

After retiring from law enforcement I volunteered to go Afghanistan to help rebuild the Afghan National Security Forces. I will add that my law enforcement skills were tested in a combat environment. I was a awarded the certificate for meritorious service by the Nangahar Provincial Police Chief.

I started teaching in 1986, when I received my first black belt. I continue to perfect my ability to teach through out my professional career, having taught for the United States Marine Corps, Glendale Community College Law Enforcement Training Academy, Everest University, and now Valencia College. My specialties are Non-verbal Intelligence, Report Writing, Homeland Security, Ethics in CJ, Criminal Investigations, Combative Self Defense, Firearms, and Security Management.
