Joanne Goodman

Professor, Hospitality Management

Joanne Goodman has been leading, developing and training for almost 30 years. She has both Industry and teaching experience. She graduated with an MBA from FIU in Hospitality Management and started her career with Marriott Hotels. In her 22 years with Marriott, she worked in various roles, worked in four different Brands in five states and in 12 Hotels, and was a General Manager for 13 of those 22 years. She left Marriott to create the current NAF Academy for Hospitality for OCPS in 2010 and is a current full time faculty at the Valencia/UCF downtown campus. Ms. Goodman was known for delivering results for Marriott and developing successful teams and now has the reputation for developing her students to be effective leaders in the Industry and has a strong focus on the Community. She partners with various non profits for collaborative class projects for her students. She recently completed diversity and leadership training for COTN in Uganda and was the Board President for the Bridges of Light Foundation. While a Marriott GM, Professor Goodman was the recipient of FRLAs Industry Partner of the Year in 2009 and later was recognized as their Teacher of the Year in 2016. She also received the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute's Lamp of Knowledge award in 2016.
