Dr. Linda King

Adjunct Professor

I am Dr. Linda King, and I am passionate about the study of Life! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated with a B.S in Biology from UCLA, and a Ph. D in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research under two different Nobel Prize winning scientists, Dr. Paul Boyer and Dr. Thomas Cech, while pursuing my education. After I graduated, I worked as a postdoctoral research associate for the University of Maryland and the USDA. I went on to teach biology, cell and molecular biology, microbiology, and human physiology for undergraduates and graduate students. I am currently involved in research at UCF to develop and analyze a mouse model of Type 2O Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which is caused by a mutation in the dynein gene and results in progressive neurodegeneration.
