Matthew Koval

Professor of Humanities

I teach and have a passion for humanities, history, and archaeology from the ancient world to the early modern era. Exploring the world is my favorite hobby, and I have ventured into the jungles of central America, felt the heat of the Sahara desert, and participated in archaeological excavations in Eastern Poland. I am a proud Gator, with a PhD and MA from the University of Florida, and I completed my bachelor's degree from Grove City College. I completed a Fulbright Research Grant in Wroclaw, Poland in 2016/2017, at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology (Polish Academy of Sciences). My research interests in include social history, history of childhood, religious history, and much more.
