Dear class, the following are focus questions, due Oct. 4th.(MW), or 
Oct 3rd (Tues.) Because I will drop the lowest grade you can choose to 
ignore these and pick up the next round-same as before, two pages extra 
sources if needed. 

From the Iliad

Contrast Hector and Paris as characters.

Discuss the god's participation in the Trojan War. Do the gods seem 
petty or childish in their attitudes toward each other?

How does Paris fall short of the Homeric concept of the hero?

From the Aeneid,

How is Dido an example of weak leadership for her people?

Discuss the political reasons for the development of the Aeneid.

How is Aeneas the epitome of the model citizen of Rome?

Consider the sacrifice of Aeneas, are his accomplishments worth it? 

Discuss the importance of prophecy in this work.
