Mrs. Courtney Gegenheimer

Professor of Mathematics

My background:

As a Tallahassee resident since Kindergarten, I attended Florida State University, go Noles! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science with a minor in Communication Disorders. A member of Delta Alpha Chi sorority holding executive board leadership positions.

The following fall semester after graduation, I started teaching at Tallahassee Community College in the developmental math courses while also working in the Math Lab tutoring.

Ready to pursue more, I packed up and moved to Pensacola to attend University of West Florida for my master's degree. During the completion of my program, I taught at both the university and at Pensacola State College. I received my Master's degree in Mathematics with a focus in Statistics. For my final project in the program I researched the multivariate analysis of influences into the outcomes of UFC fights.

Once I had received my Master's degree, I moved back to Tallahassee to once more teach for the TCC campus. This time around I taught in the math department and even had the opportunity to teach on Florida State campus over the summer.

Ready for a change of venue from my old home town Tallahassee, the opportunity came up in Orlando at Valencia. Excited to be in the town of where Dreams come True! Valencia is not only where I work, but where I feel most at home.

In my fourth year (of five) in the process of earning Tenure at Valencia and will be graduating this May with my EdS degree from UWF in Curriculum & Instruction.

Feel free to drop by my office and say hello!

Some fun things I do in my free time, besides math: I love to go on walks around the neighborhood with my dog, love running half marathons, reading a good book, or decorating cakes!
