Dr. Andrea Rediske

Professor of Biology

Dr. Rediske has worked as an adjunct professor of biology, microbiology, human biology, and anatomy & physiology at Valencia College, East Campus and Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, CA since 2001. She is returning to Valencia as a full-time faculty member after completing her PhD in Science Education with a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Quantitative Methods in Educational and Human Sciences from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Rediske's primary research interests are in improving student learning outcomes in undergraduate microbiology, anatomy & physiology, and biology courses. Dr. Rediske received her BS in microbiology in 1996 and her MS in microbiology in 1998 from Brigham Young University. She is currently a section editor for the Journal of Microbiology and Biology Education, a member of the American Society for Microbiology, National Association of Biology Teachers, and National Association for Research in Science Teaching.
