Dr. Candace Cravaritis
I am a full time instructor at the East Campus of Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. I teach biology for science majors (honors and non-honors), human sexuality and microbiology for nurses. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. I then received my Ph.D. in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. While I was completing my post-doctoral fellowship in immunology and gene therapy at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, I decided to change career course and pursue a Master of Public Health with a concentration on International Public Health. My desire has been to teach biology and proper health practices in underprivileged communities either in the U.S. or abroad.
My husband and I have been married for 10 years. We have 2 daughters ages 12 and 10. I enjoy cooking (hope to teach food science in the future) and gardening. My educational interests are molecular microbiology and public health.
