Dr. Calandria Smith


Dr. Calandria U. Smith is a native of Orlando, Florida. After graduating from West Orange High School, Dr. Smith attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University on the highest of seven hills in Tallahassee, FL.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, Dr. Smith remained in Tallahassee for a while and worked for the State of Florida Department of Corporations. Dr. Smith became a Business Consultant, which includes assisting clients with Sole Proprietorship and Corporate Filings required for the State, such as Nonprofit 501(C)(3) filings.

In 1998, Dr. Smith relocated back to Orlando and started her own Insurance Agency. She is currently a Financial Life Coach and Professor at Valencia College. Dr. Smith is a life-long learner. She has attended United Bible Seminary College where she received a Sunday School Teaching Certification. Dr. Smith also has a Master of Business Administration Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services with an emphasis in Public Service Leadership.

Dr. Smith began a very extensive career with Pearson Online Learning Solutions in 2004. During that same year, Professor Smith joined the Mathematics Division at Valencia and moved to the Business Division in 2018. Dr. Smith was promoted in several areas including becoming the Director of Research and Analytics while at Pearson.

After 13 years with Pearson, Dr. Smith was appointed as Executive Vice President of Cambridge Graduate University International and served in that capacity successfully leading the Graduate University into Accreditation and doubled enrollments.

In addition to Producing Major Theatrical Events around the country, Dr. Smith and her husband, Ron, now own two Adult Day Training Centers (The Golden Touch of Central Florida) in Lake County where they offer a wide variety of structured activities, social interaction and skill-building opportunities to enrich the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Smith strongly believes in helping to make our community better, has been involved in many civic organizations, including the Central Florida Chamber of Commerce, South Lake Chamber of Commerce, "Give A Day Foundation", National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and is the founder of R.A.W. Real, Anointed, Women’s Foundation, Landi-Lou Productions Company, and Golden Services Foundation (Nonprofit).

Her most proud roles are wife to Ronald Smith and Mother to Crystlin Smith.
