Dr. Maura Gleeson
Instructor, Humanities and Art History
Maura Gleeson holds an MA and Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Florida. Her primary field of research focuses on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century France, and her secondary field is in Latin American art. Dr. Gleeson's current work explores women’s networks, patronage, and art-making in post-Revolutionary and Napoleonic France.
Areas of Interest:
-women's friendship and political networks
-patronage and private collections
-subversive/protest art
-the influence of social media (especially Instagram) on the art market
-exhibition design and spatial relationships
-street art and graffiti
