Kelly Kozma

Mathematics Professor

My name is Kelly Kozma and I am excited to be your instructor this semester! Let me begin by sharing with you a little about myself.

I was born & raised in Miami, FL and graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 2005. Immediately after graduating high school, I began my first college semester at UCF majoring in Mathematics Education. The 4 years that I spent at UCF pursuing my bachelors degree were some of the best years of my life. Calculus (MAC 2311) is where I met my husband, the Chi Omega "Fraternity" is where I made some life-long-friendships & memories, and the city of Orlando quickly became my home. I truly treasured my experiences at UCF & here in Orlando so much that after graduating in 2009, I enrolled in UCF's Masters of Mathematics Education M.Ed program (which I completed in 2011); and as of 2017, Valencia offered to send me back at school AGAIN, to finish a 2nd graduate degree - this time in Graduate Mathematics. I just finished my last class this Summer (2019) and now have 2 graduate degree's!! Isn't life exciting?

While pursuing my 1st masters degree back in 2009, I was given an amazing opportunity to teach Algebra II at Colonial High School. In fact, I taught at Colonial High School for 9 years until I decided to officially retire my Grenadier-hat at the end of the 2018 school year. Throughout my time as a Colonial Grenadier, I have had the privilege of working with a phenomenal group of teachers & administrators, and have taught every math subject from Algebra 1 - AP Calculus AB; and now I am here with YOU, at Valencia, teaching one of my favorite subjects - Algebra!

I just know this is going to be a great semester!
