Dr. Mayra Holzer

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Puerto Rico. Several years later I moved to Orlando, where I obtained a master’s degree in communication and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Central Florida.

I have been teaching communication courses for over twenty years at Valencia College. I began my teaching career as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Central Florida. Prior to teaching, I worked in the field of advertising, conducting research in the area of audience persuasion. I view teaching as an opportunity to share with others what I have learned, and continue to learn, about communication in interpersonal, academic, and professional contexts.
