Ms. Meleine Yao

My name is Meleine Yao, and I am a proud first-generation college graduate. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, with a minor in Biology, from Salisbury University, and completed my Master of Science in Environmental Sciences at American University. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have gained diverse experience in wildlife conservation, waste management, community outreach, water quality assessment, website design, art, creative writing, and program management. This broad skill set fuels my passion for promoting environmental literacy and justice.

My goal is to use my expertise to advocate for BIPOC communities, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to address environmental challenges. As an educator, I am dedicated to helping students engage with environmental science in meaningful ways, fostering critical thinking and creativity. I look forward to inspiring students to deepen their understanding of environmental issues and empowering them to contribute to a more just and sustainable future.
