Dr. Wesley Johnson
Dr. Wesley Johnson earned his bachelor's degree in English with a specialization in advanced literary studies from Saint Leo University and a Master's degree in English Literature from the University of South Florida. After his masters degree, he taught high school literature before moving into the college classroom as a Professor of English and Communication where he taught and developed courses in horror, surveillance, and identity and media.
In 2021 he completed his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of South Florida where he specialized in critical/ cultural communication, media studies, and qualitative research. He has publications in Communication Education, Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, and the Journal of Autoethnography.
A lifelong educator, Dr. Johnson sees the classroom as a laboratory space where students and faculty can experiment with ideas, challenge norms, and develop new tools for inquiry. As a division level administrator, he highlights opportunities for engagement and supports the development of students and faculty.
