The course will emphasize the role of plants in the development of civilization, and the influence of plants on world history, politics, economics, and culture. A survey of useful and harmful plants and plant products from various cultures around the world will be explored. Students should be able to complete college-level reading, writing, and mathematics assignments as part of this course.
