Dr. Nicole Boucher Spottke
Professor of English
Education and Professional Experience
I am a graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa with a PhD in literature. I also am lead copy editor for an online journal, Aphra Behn Online http://www.aphrabehn.org/ABO/ as well as the Faculty Fellow for for Online Teaching and Learning--until the end of the summer anyway :)
I teach online, hybrid, and traditional courses at VCC--ENC 1101 and ENC 1102, British Literature 1300-1800, and Introduction to Literature.
Teaching Philosophy, Briefly
My teaching philosophy is that diversity enhances learning. You are all of different races, nationalities, genders, sexual preferences, socio-economic backgrounds and more. And it is because of our diverse experiences that learning occurs as we discuss our differences with relation to literature, writing, and life in general.
I love reading and writing, running and exercise classes. I am nearly done with Stephen King's book 4 of the Dark Tower series. I have also started writing a blog that began in London over the summer. I traveled to Wales, through England, and ran a half marathon at Disneyland Paris. Fantastic trip.
