Andres Goyanes, MBA

Adjunct Faculty | Business Division

I am a marketing communications strategist and global leadership scholar based in Orlando, Florida. Professionally, I own an industrial marketing consultancy working with clients in engineering, construction, and applied technologies. Prior to owning my business, I worked in the Hospitality Industry as a marketing executive for a number of national and global resort brands. With over 25 years of experience in marketing management, I have a passion for communicating value on behalf of our clients. I am also a licensed Real Estate Broker working with commercial clients. Prior to teaching at Valencia College, I was an adjunct professor of marketing for almost 7 years at the University of Phoenix's Central Florida Campus.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Central Florida and an MBA with a concentration in Sustainable Business from Marylhurst University. I am also a PhD Candidate at Troy University where I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Global Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.

My doctoral research topics include Transformational Leadership (TL) and Servant Leadership (SL), with a particular interest in the moderating effects of Cultural Intelligence (CQ), Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and Social Intelligence (SQ) on ethical decision-making by leaders and the organizations they serve.

Having traveled extensively across Europe, North/South America, and the Caribbean, I have developed a passion for meeting people from different cultures, religions, and worldviews—helping me strengthen my own profile as a Global Citizen. This passion is shared by my wife, who is originally from Ecuador, and with whom I enjoy interacting in cross-cultural environments locally and abroad. On that note, I am fluent in English and Spanish, with conversational knowledge of Italian and Portuguese.

I am an advocate for volunteering in the community as a way to develop civic virtue and social capital. As a member of Rotary, I have been developing my leadership profile in this global service organization with over 1.4 million members worldwide. Currently, I serve as District Governor for Rotary in Central Florida, leading 45 Rotary Clubs and almost 1,700 Rotarians across five counties: Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, and Sumter.
