Dr. April Raneri

Dr. April Raneri graduated from the University of Florida in Higher Education Leadership with a focus on Strategic Communication. Prior to completing her doctorate, Dr. Raneri graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and a master’s degree in Interpersonal and Mass Media Communication.

Dr. Raneri worked for several years as a Communications Manager at an Orlando based advertising company working on creating and implementing advertisement plans for local area businesses before deciding to switch her focus to education.

Dr. Raneri has research published on health communication, open educational resources, and strategic communication. Her current interests and research focus on how communication will be adapted through the use of AI technologies.

Dr. Raneri started working at Valencia in 2010 teaching English for Academic Purposes and Student Success. She currently works as the communication department coordinator at the Lake Nona campus and teaches Fundamentals of Speech and Interpersonal Communication. She also serves as a service-learning mentor to students looking to explore learning through service with local partners.
