Angela Vergara
BIOGRAPHY
Angela Vergara is a Professor of Psychology and Sociology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Valencia College - Downtown Campus. And, a Sociology Professor at the University of Central Florida. Her areas of expertise include mental health counseling and applied psychology, PTSD and mood disorders, sociology of mental health, social inequalities, and reproductive health. Her research involves topics in race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, and minority populations. Her current research focuses on gender differences, immigration status, culture and language, reproduction and sexuality, and its effects on Mental Health in the Hispanic/Latinx population. Her teaching interests include research methods, sociology of mental health, and global inequalities.
