David Freeman

Professor of English

David Freeman received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Education and his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Central Florida in 1988. He later received his Master of Arts degree in English Literature from UCF as well, but only after a hiatus of nearly fifteen years during which he worked in Training and Development (and other departments) for Walt Disney World.

He has worked at Valencia Community College for many years, first as a Senior Instructional Assistant and Writing Center Instructor, then as a classroom instructor for Developmental Writing I & II and College Composition I & II. Additionally, he has experience teaching and working with students in English for Academic Purposes (primarily grammar and composition for students whose first language is not English) and in Developmental Reading.

Professor Freeman's educational philosophy centers on the idea that learning is an everyday experience and is most productive when it is shared within a community of committed lifelong learners.
