Dr. Elizabeth J. Brown-Jordan

Associate Professor, Psychology

I am a student-centered educator with extensive experience teaching various courses in psychological science for more than twenty years. My teaching portfolio includes courses in Introductory and General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Positive Psychology, Research Methods, Child Psychology, Psychology for Business and Industry (i.e., I/O Psychology), Group Relations and Interviewing Techniques, Community Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and Psychology of Cultural Diversity. I have taught all of these courses at three colleges and universities: Pace University in New York City, the Borough of Manhattan Community College/CUNY in New York City, and at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, just to name a few of my professional organizational memberships that are relevant to my role as a Professor of Psychology. My goal as an instructor is to present the science of Psychology in a way that fosters students' understanding and encourages students to apply what they have learned in the course to everyday life issues.
