Dr. Jen Danilowski
Jen Danilowski has a passion for being in any kind of classroom for nearly twenty years at both the K-12 and college level. She is the recipient of the League Excellence Award (2020) in addition to teaching Psychology courses and facilitating workshops as part of the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) and the Peace and Justice Institute (PJI) at Valencia College since 2015.
Currently, she serves as the PJI Teachers Academy Coordinator. Additionally, she was part of a team that developed a college-wide resource space devoted to a variety of social justice and equity topics, "Opportunities for Conversations and Reflections," and takes advantage of every opportunity to facilitate discussions of LGBT+ inclusion and acceptance.
Jen earned both a PhD in psychology and a master's degree in education with a specialization in Teaching and Learning from Keiser University, as well as a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida. Her dissertation focused on the relationship between Flow and well-being. It is this love of positive psychology that drives her passion to see how we can grow, thrive, and continue to broaden and build a sense of resiliency.
Outside of work, she spends her days taking long walks with her wife and dog, learning the violin and yoga, preferably not at the same time, and spending days meandering around Disney.
