Dr. Maria Georgo

INSTRUCTOR BIO
I am very excited to be teaching
Peace Studies and Conflict Management here at Valencia College. I have been in the work of Conflict Resolutions &
Peace Studies for 15+ years. My interests are in de-escalating conflict and facilitating
resolution. My PhD is from Nova Southeastern University in Humanities and Social Sciences. I
also hold a BA degree from Salisbury State University in Communications with a minor in
Business and Education, and a MS degree in Counseling and Guidance from Central Connecticut
State University. I am passionate about teaching and learning and have had a myriad of
opportunities to do both. I am noted for being a catalyst, impacting positive change in the lives of
many with an eclectic and inclusive style and passion for cross-cultural understanding.
