Ms. Milena Zaleckaite
Manager of EAP Cultural Excursions
Founder/Editor of an intercultural blog "...and then I came to America"
I have always been a language enthusiast. Learning languages is my passion. It is a puzzle that I enjoy putting together.
At Valencia College, I started my academic journey as an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) student. In 2008, I graduated from Valencia College as an honors student and a member of PTK. While studying at the college that celebrated diversity, I eventually decided to get my Bachelors in English at Rollins College, in Winter Park, Florida. After two years, I have come full circle from being an EAP student at Valencia College to returning there to be an instructor. In 2012, I earned my MA in bilingual education at Dominican University in Illinois.
I enjoy working with non-native speakers because every day at work, I learn more cultural nuances, ins and outs.
Finally, as a present professor and a former international student, I can not only provide training wheels to my students to prepare them to their solo ride but also motivate them to believe in themselves and strive for success.
