Dr. Nicole Boucher Spottke

Professor of English

Education and Professional Experience

I am a graduate of the State University of New York College at New Paltz with a BA and an MA in literature

I am a graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa with a PhD in literature.

I also have a certificate in instructional design from Seminole State College

Teaching Duties

I teach online, mixed-mode, and traditional courses at VC--ENC 0027, ENC 1101, and ENC 1102, and LIT 1000: Introduction to Literature.

I also teach professional development courses for Valencia instructors

MyTeaching Philosophy, Briefly

My teaching philosophy is that diversity enhances learning. We are all of different races, nationalities, genders, sexual preferences, socio-economic backgrounds, and more. And because we have diverse experiences, learning occurs as we discuss our differences in relation to literature, writing, and life in general.

Outside Interests

I love reading, traveling, and writing. I write a blog that began in London over the summer 2016. Read about it and more recent adventures here:
