Dr. Susan Ingersoll

Professor and Program Director of Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences

I received my B.S. degree in Zoology from University of Florida in 1994 and then continued at the University of Florida, College of Medicine where I earned my Ph.D. in Molecular and Mammalian Genetics in 2000. I was a research scientist at Advent Health for 13 years where my research focused on blood-borne cancer metastasis and immune cell therapy for ovarian cancer. I joined Valencia in 2014 and was named Program Director and Professor for the Biotechnology Laboratory Sciences program in 2016. In this role I get to combine my two passions of laboratory experiments and teaching. During my career I have published 20 peer reviewed manuscripts, regularly present my work at national and international meetings, and have served as Principal Investigator for extramural funding.
